Police investigating after woman assaulted on train

Police are investigating a sexual assault on a sleeping woman which occurred on a train.

On October 23, a woman on board a train between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton woke up and found a man was sexually assaulting her.

The man disembarked at Wolverhampton station.

British Transport Police (BTP) released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to as part of the investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP, either by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 221 of October 23 2025.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
