Police concerned after 'racially offensive' posters pop up across Fife
Officers are treating it as a hate crime as they try to find those responsible
Police in Fife have said they are concerned after a number of 'racially offensive' posters emerged across the region.
The first one was found on a bus shelter on Overton Road, Kirkcaldy, at around 10am on Thursday, 30 January.
Two more posters were then found in two different locations in Leven five days later,
All three posters have since been removed and police are launching a hate crime probe as they try to find those responsible.
Sergeant Piercy said: "The content of these posters is very concerning and we recognise the impact this may have on our communities.
"The posters that have been discovered have since been removed, however we would urge the public to report instances of this nature to police immediately if they come across it.
"We have dedicated officers carrying out a number of enquiries to establish where this material came from, and I would appeal to the public to contact police if you have any information which may assist.
"Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident 1085 of 4 February, 2025. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where you can give information anonymously."
