A man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a ram-raid at a shopping centre in Livingston and a number of other alleged offences across the east of Scotland.

Police say he has been reported in connection with seven incidents of theft by housebreaking and three of attempted theft by housebreaking at business premises, including post offices, convenience stores and bookmakers.

The incidents are understood to have taken place during February and March across Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian and Forth Valley.

Officers also say two residential properties were targeted in Linlithgow and Bathgate.

The man has further been reported in connection with the ram-raid at The Centre, Livingston in the early hours of 17 March, when a vehicle was driven through bollards and into the building.

He has also been reported in connection with the alleged theft of a vehicle and wilful fire-raising.

Detective Sergeant John Irvine said: “We are committed to tackling acquisitive crime and we know these incidents were concerning to residents in the local areas.

“Our enquiries continue into other such offences, and I’d like to thank those members of the public who came forward following our earlier appeals for information.”

Police confirmed enquiries are ongoing.
