A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to an order of lifelong restriction and will serve a minimum of five years in prison for sexual and violent offences against women.

Robert Davie was found guilty of offences including rape, indecent assault, and serious assault, following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh on 17 December, 2024.

The offences took place against a woman in the Falkirk area between 1994 and 2022.

Davie was sentenced at the same court on Monday, 15 December, 2025.

Detective Inspector Frank Keegan, of the Domestic Abuse Task Force, said: “Davie is a violent, sexual predator, who now faces the consequences of his depraved actions.

“Our thoughts remain with the woman, and I hope this sentencing brings them some sense of closure.
