Man dies days after e-bike crash with van in Dalkeith

A man has died following a road crash in Dalkeith involving an electric mountain bike and a van.

Emergency services were called to the A6106, Old Dalkeith Road, at around 1.40pm on Friday after reports of a collision with a white Transit van.

The 44-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital but died on Monday.

Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant Mike Nash said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this crash. I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

“Anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time is asked to check if it holds anything relevant and please get in touch if you can help.”
