Man dies after Christmas Day motorbike crash near Stirling
A 60 year old man died after the collision on the A811 on Wednesday afternoon
A 60 year old man has died after a crash on the A811 on Christmas Day.
Police were called to the area between Kings Knot roundabout and Kippen Station roundabout near Leckie after a crash involving a red Audi A7 and a grey Moto Guzzi V100 motorcycle at around 2pm on Wednesday.
The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, his next of kin are aware.
The 72 year old driver of the Audi was taken to Forth Valley Hospital to be checked for minor injuries.
The road was closed for around 10 hours while investigations were carried out, and police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white Dacia Duster which was seen in the area at the time.
Police appeal
Inspector Andrew Thomson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.
"I am now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”
