Man charged after attempted murder in south-west Edinburgh

A man has been arrested and charged following an attempted murder in south-west Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to a property on Wardlaw Street, near Gorgie Road, at around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. Medical staff have described his condition as serious but not critical.

A 39-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said enquiries are ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.
