Drugs with an estimated value of £1.6 million have been recovered from a property in Falkirk.

Police attended a house on Abbots Road around 3pm on Sunday acting on intelligence. Officers discovered a cannabis cultivation of around 2,500 plants.

Detective Inspector John Currie of Forth Valley CID said the seizure highlights ongoing efforts to tackle serious organised crime.

“This recovery underlines our commitment to disrupting the production and supply of controlled drugs,” he said.

“We will continue to act on intelligence and use all available resources to tackle serious organised crime.

"Anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their area can call Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for the cultivation.
