Police appeal for help to trace missing 13-year-old West Lothian girl

Police are asking for help from the public to find Aleighsha Brechin, a 13-year-old girl missing from East Lothian.

Aleighsha was last seen in the West Loan area of Prestonpans around 8.30am on Wednesday, 3rd December.

Aleighsha Brechin has links to Edinburgh

She is described as being 5ft 4in tall and wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit bottoms, and white Nike trainers when she was last spotted.

She is also known to have connections in Edinburgh, including the Fort Kinnaird area.

Inspector Calum Champion said: “It is out of character for Aleighsha to be out of contact with family or friends and we are asking anyone who may have seen her to contact us.”

Anyone who might have information is encouraged to contact Police Scotland by calling 101 and quoting incident number 0076 from 4th December 2025.
