Police searching for a 56-year-old man reported missing from Edinburgh have found a body.

The discovery was made near Cockburnspath, around 10.15pm last night (Thursday).

Formal identification is yet to take place, however, officers say the family of Gary Hill (pictured) has been informed.

Gary, who has been described as "one of the soundest guys" in a tribute online, was last seen leaving the Asda store in the capital's Chesser area around 4.30am on Monday.

Police say his death is being treated as "unexplained", but is not believed to be suspicious.

A report, detailing the circumstances, will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
