Elderly woman dies after being hit by car outside Edinburgh hospital

An 85-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car outside the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to Little France Crescent at around 3.40pm on Monday after a crash involving a red Peugeot 208 and two pedestrians.

The woman was taken to hospital but died on Thursday morning.

An 88-year-old man remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police Scotland said enquiries into the crash are ongoing and has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
