Edinburgh police treat death of 22-year-old in Leith as suspicious

A 22-year-old man has died after being found injured in Edinburgh in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police were called to Great Junction Street at its junction with Bonnington Road around 2.10am on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out and officers say the death is being treated as suspicious.

The area remains cordoned off while enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following the death of a man in Edinburgh.

"The area remains closed as enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.”
