A child support worker in Fife has been struck off, after sending offensive snapchats and selling vapes to primary aged children.
The 41 year old had been working at a primary school in Glenrothes.
During March 2023, Gillian Sorbie sent the following messages to a pupil aged around 12 via Snapchat:
“Go suck a f**k”
“Well that’s what wh*res do so anytime you feel like it…”
“Go to hell”
“You dead yet”
“Oh go ahead but I’ll stay alive just to piss you off”
In the same exchange Sorbie referred to the pupil as a “stupid fat wh*re”, in another she’d arranged to buy vapes for pupils:
"all of you give the money to one person then that person can jump in my car and I'll hand over all of the vapes and they can dish them out after I've gone…
“I can't have folk knowing I'm selling vapes to 11 year olds lol"
The Scottish Social Services Council said Sorbie offered “no insight or apology” for her behaviour, removing her registration to work with children and young people.
