Body found near Livingston bridge as police investigate unexplained death
Police have launched an investigation after a man's body was found near Almond Valley Bridge in Livingston.
The discovery was made around 2.40pm on Friday,
While formal identification has yet to take place, officers have informed the family of 54-year-old Alan Niven, who was reported missing from the Livingston area on Monday.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
