50-year-old man left shaken after knifepoint robbery in Whitburn
Detectives are appealing for information after a man was threatened with a knife and robbed in Whitburn.
The incident happened at around 3.15am on Monday on a footpath between Bog Road and Dean Street.
Police say a 50-year-old man was approached by another man, who threatened him with a knife before stealing his wallet, which contained a three-figure sum of cash and personal items.
The victim was not injured but was left extremely shaken. The suspect then fled in the direction of Bog Road.
Detective Constable Graeme Rogers said: "This was a frightening incident for the victim, and it is vital we trace the man responsible.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a man acting suspiciously, or knows who it may be, to contact officers.
"I'd also appeal to those in the area who have dash-cam footage or private CCTV to review this to see if it has captured anything of significance."
