Dylan Curran was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday
Police say a 25 year old man convicted of murder and attempted murder will now “face the consequences of his deplorable actions”, after a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Dylan Curran appeared in court on Friday March 14, charged in connection with the death of Peter Mullen in 2023.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Leith Street near the Greenside Row on Friday June 2 2023, where they found Mr Mullen, 30, with serious injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
"Deplorable actions"
Curran was subsequently arrested in connection with the death.
The 25 year old was convicted of murder on Friday, as well as of the attempted murder of a 43 year old man during the same incident.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson said: "Our thoughts remain with Peter’s family and friends as they come to terms with what happened to him.
