17 year old boy dies in fatal Fife crash

Police are appealing for information after the collision near Kelty

A 17 year old boy has died in a crash in Fife in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened near Kelty, on the B914 near its junction with the A823 and involved a yellow Volkswagen Golf and a blue Toyota Aygo.

Emergency services attended but driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene, his next of kin have been informed.

The occupants of the Volkswagon fled the scene, however an 18 year old man has since been arrested in connection.

Police appeal

Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: “Our thoughts are with the 17-year-old male who has died.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police.

“In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist.”
