In aid of Soccer Aid

Since it first launched back in 2022, The 1% Club has quickly become one of the most popular gameshows on TV, with applications going through the roof for the first four series. As well as the show being renewed for a fifth instalment, with applications now open, bosses have now confirmed a very special edition of the show.

What is The 1% Club special for?

Hosted by Lee Mack, a celebrity special will air later in 2025 in celebration of charity football match Soccer Aid. Over 100 stars from the world of sport and entertainment will battle it out to see if they can get in The 1% Club, whilst raising money for UNICEF.

The annual Soccer Aid match between England and Rest of the World XI will follow.

When is it on TV?

There's no word just yet when The 1% Club Soccer Aid special will air, but we imagine it will be around Summer time.

Which celebs are taking part?

ITV/STV bosses have so far released a small sample of famous names who are taking part in the special, including Hits Radio hosts Gemma Atkinson and Kimberley Wyatt.

Sport stars Jill Scott, Max Whitlock, Tony Bellew and Neil Ruddock will put their brains to the test, as well as sport presenters Mark Chapman and Mark Pougatch,

Reality stars Tommy Fury, Jake Quickenden and Amber Gill will also feature, as well as TV hosts Paddy McGuinness and Iain Stirling, and singers Aitch and Brian McFadden.

Other names are set to be announced in due course.

Who will be the host?

Just like he does for the usual show, comedian Lee Mack will host the Soccer Aid special.

What channel is it on?

The 1% Club Soccer Aid special will air on ITV/STV and ITVX and STV Player.

When is the next series of The 1% Club?

Bosses announced the hit show had been renewed for a fifth series last year, with applications opening in February 2025.

The application website states: 'This show is all about how people’s brains work rather than what you learnt at school. Because of this, people of any age or background should have an equal chance of making it into The 1% Club.

'We encourage people from all ethnic backgrounds, sexuality and those who are D/deaf and/ or disabled to apply as we want to show a true representation of the UK. If you need special assistance in order to complete this application, please contact [email protected].'
