Benson Boone: A look back on his 'American Heart World Tour'
He performed across the UK as part of his tour
Last updated 16th Mar 2026
Benson Boone's breakthrough track 'Beautiful Things' took the world by storm when he released it in 2024, and in 2025 he went on a world tour including several UK dates. However, sadly he was forced to postpone his date in Birmingham (Saturday 1st November) after he fell ill.
Re-scheduled for Sunday 15th March, Benson finally wowed his fans in Birmingham, so let's take a look back at his tour.
A look back at the 'American Heart World Tour'
Benson started his world tour in the United States of America in August 2025. He then moved on to Canada, mainland Europe and the UK. His UK leg was set to take place in October and November 2025, however his Birmingham gig, was postponed due to ill health.
After Benson finished the tour (except for Birmingham) he took to Instagram to reflect on his tour telling his fans: 'I cannot fully wrap my head around the last couple of months. This tour has been the most beautiful and energetic experience of my entire life. From the first drawing I did of this stage in my notebook almost two years ago, to the crew loading out for the last time in Stockholm, this tour and every show in it has occupied my mind every second in between and it will continue to linger for years to come. Thank you to everyone who showed up for me, to the fans who have made these nights far more than just a show. You guys made this a home. I will never ever be able to thank you guys enough for what you allow me to do with my voice. I promise you I will be back soon. I miss you already, and to be honest, I missed you before the last show even started. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.'
When did Benson Boone's Birmingham gig take place?
The singer confirmed on social media that he had rescheduled his postponed Birmingham gig. He performed on Sunday 15th March, at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham. He also shared a written statement with this fans saying: 'BIRMINGHAM!!!
'Thank you for your patience while we’ve tried to sort this show. Every option lead to cancelling but I didn’t want to except that, I’m very very excited to say we’re going to be able to come MARCH 15TH to Birmingham for our rescheduled show. I cannot wait to see you all, and this show will be worth it. Thank you for waiting for me, see you soon <3 B'. (sic)
After the gig took place, Benson took to his Instagram Stories to thank his fans, sharing a photo of himself wearing headphones, and sunglasses on his head, with the words: 'BIRMINGHAM THANK YOU FOR TONIGHT'.
Why did he cancel his gig in Birmingham?
Just an hour before the show was due to start, it was announced that Benson's gig had been postponed. A statement shared by the venue, Utilita Arena, said: 'We’re sorry to share that Benson Boone’s show tonight, Saturday 1st November, at Utilita Arena Birmingham has been cancelled due to artist illness.
'We’re working through all possible options to reschedule. Ticket holders will be contacted directly as soon as we have an update.
'We understand how disappointing this is and sincerely apologise for the extremely short notice and the inconvenience caused.
'We’re sending Benson our very best wishes for a speedy recovery. ❤️'
At the time, the venue shared a statement from Benson, which read: 'Birmingham I am so so sorry but I will not be able to perform tonight. I have tried everything I can to revive my voice, but I cannot give you the show I’d like to be able to give you with the condition of my throat right now.
'I am working with my team to find a date to reschedule as soon as possible. This is genuinely the crappiest feeling, I am so sorry. I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you. I’ll update you guys as soon as I can. Thank you for everything you do.'
Special guest Brian May
Queen guitarist Brian May joined Benson at his shows in London and the rescheduled Birmingham gig. After the Birmingham gig he shared a video of his performance, along with a lengthy caption, which read: 'While lotta fun with Benson Boone last night. His show is sensational - I just provided a little icing on the cake. Gotta say pure fun and adrenaline are just one reason I wanna spend my weekend in Birmingham. But there are other reasons. What reasons ?!!
1) It's a big challenge to step into this massive production and deliver. I like a challenge - even though it makes me nervous - probably BECAUSE it makes me nervous !
2) The band are incredibly inspiring to play with on stage. Magnificent musicians who play every moment with power and passion.
3) Benson himself is not only an awesome performer but one of the most genuine, thoughtful and generous people I've ever met.
4) Likewise the band and crew treat me like one of the Family - it kinda feels like home, backstage with them. Reminds me of our wonderful Queen touring family. And - Yes - of course I miss them.
5) It was a chance for my grandchildren to share a moment and experience what my life has been like.
6) And this is a big one. I'm not sure how many people realise this, but this show was originally planned to happen about three months ago, and Benson was forced to cancel at the last minute, because of strain to his voice.
He was mortified, and promised to come back as soon as he could to make it up to the Birmingham fans. Not only did he fulfil that promise tonight, but he and the whole band and crew came back to the UK just to play this ONE show.
It's hard to imagine how much trouble and expense had to be put into making that happen. Apart from flying all the equipment and personnel back over here, an entire stage and rig had to be custom built for this one night,, and tried and proved and tested to meet all the requirements of this incredibly complex show. I don't know many performers who would take that hit to fulfil a promise. That, to me, signifies decency and dedication. I was proud to be the extra gift.
6) To be greeted with that ROAR from a Birmingham audience was beyond priceless - I felt that old love - Queen had such great times in Birmingham. Great days ! I feel lucky. Thanks Midlands folks - it was a blast. And thanks Benson, Sus, Brook, Chris and Matt. Love you guys - Bri'. (sic)
At his London show in November, the singer performed two songs, Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and his hit 'Beautiful Things' with Brian, telling fans: "I think I forgot something... We didn't do a cover did we?"
He then proceeded to sing 'Bohemian Rhapsody', before Brian May appeared on stage to perform the guitar solo. Watch the moment below...
Benson previously appeared with Brian on stage at this year's Coachella where they also performed 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
