How did he announce the song?
Taking to social media in early February 2026, Alex shared a teaser for his song, telling fans: 'can’t wait to haunt you in an uber soon'.
In the video he could be seen dancing in a kitchen with his wife, while the words: "Alex Warren will never write something as good as Ordinary," (sic) appear on screen.
Alex received thousands of comments from his fans. One wrote: 'ANOTHER HIT LETS GOO 😍😍🔥🔥🔥' (sic) with another writing: 'Dude every single song you write is good!! 😍'.
Following the initial announcement of the song, he continued to share snippets of the tune, with one of his TikToks revealing that he'd told his label to drop his song early!
When was it released?
Two weeks after announcing his new song, Alex shared a video with the words: 'I may or may not have called my label forcing them to drop this song early...'
A day later he then confirmed it would be released very soon. Sharing a photo on Instagram, on Monday 23rd February, he captioned it: 'FEVER DREAM IN 3 DAYS'. The song was then released at midnight in the morning of Friday 27th February.

Song meaning
The song is reported to be about the moment he met his wife, Kouvr, and the hope he felt in the period of time that followed.
In the lyrics we hear him sing: 'Somethin' 'bout you hit me like a freight train to the chest, uh-uh / The day we met, uh-uh / My loneliness / Left the room the second that you walked in, somethin' like a fever dream.'
Despite being an upbeat track, the song has underlying themes of emotional vulnerability. It begins with the opening lines: 'How did you know I was hoping for a sign? / My heart was so close to closing time.'
Alex was actually living from his car when he first met Kouvr in 2018 — and the pair rode the wave of Alex's rising fame together, when he eventually broke into the industry around three years later. They're now happily married, which likely explains why the song sounds so joyful!
What album is it on?
'Fever Dream' looks set to appear on Alex's second album 'Wildchild', which is due out on 28th August 2026. More recent releases, 'Fine Place To Die' and 'Passenger' are also rumoured to be on the album.
Is there a music video?
Yes — there's a fun music video with Alex taking tourists celebrity spotting around Los Angeles. It even has an appearance from Paris Hilton! You can watch it below 👇
Has it won any awards?
Not yet, but it's quite new on the scene so it might. It was nominated for Song of the Summer at the 2026 American Music Awards, but the gong went to BTS, for their track 'Swim'.
