The Galgorm Collection has unveiled the latest phase of its £20m transformation programme for Roe Valley Resort in County Londonderry, which includes a new bar, soft play area and pool slides.

The new family and leisure experiences will launch this summer, including pool slides opening on 12 June, while a two-storey soft play area, bar and dining concept are opening on July 3rd. The Leaping Hound bar’s name is inspired by local folklore and the legendary ‘Dog’s Leap’, from which Limavady takes its name.

Mussenden Lodge, Galgorm Collection’s new four-bedroom accommodation offering located near Roe Valley Resort, set to launch this summer as part of the resort’s wider £20 million transformation programme.

A new £1 million pounds standalone accommodation is also part of the new developments announced by the Collection. Mussenden Lodge is a four-bedroom house which can sleep up to eight guests, seven miles from the Roe Valley Resort.

Work to upgrade the resort’s lobby and reception area are also due for completion by Christmas 2026, followed by the launch of a new indoor and outdoor adult spa experience in spring 2027.

Golf lovers can also anticipate a programme of planned enhancements to the award-winning PGA-standard golf course.

Galgorm Collection also plans to unveil new conference and event spaces in 2028.

Colin Johnston, Chief Executive Officer, Galgorm Collection, said:

“Since acquiring Roe Valley Resort, we have been focused on delivering a thoughtful and ambitious transformation that builds on the property’s strong foundations while introducing new experiences for both existing and new audiences.

“We have been delighted with the feedback from guests to date and are pleased to have welcomed visitors from across the island of Ireland, Great Britain and further afield.

“This latest phase of investment reflects our continued commitment not only to Roe Valley Resort, but to the wider North West region as a whole. We see enormous potential in this part of Northern Ireland, from its natural beauty and heritage to its growing reputation as a world-class tourism and golfing destination, and we are proud to play a role in helping to elevate that offering.”

The transformation programme forms part of Galgorm Collection’s broader investment across the North West, including plans for a new championship links golf course at Bellarena.

Laura McCorry, Chief Executive of Tourism NI, said: “Tourism Northern Ireland remains committed to supporting the continued growth of tourism across the North West, which continues to attract visitors through its outstanding natural landscapes, heritage experiences, and world class golf offering.

“It is extremely encouraging to see continued investment from Galgorm Collection as a major hospitality investor in the region.

“Alongside the international spotlight brought by events such as The Open Championship, Northern Ireland continues to build its reputation as a premium leisure and golf destination, and investments of this scale play an important role in supporting that ambition.”
