Man due in court after Newcastle assault

He's charged with GBH, threats to kill and common assault

The 31-year-old is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today (Saturday)

A man has been charged following a reported assault in Newcastle in County Down, in the early hours of Friday morning.

The PSNI says the 31-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, and common assault.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

In a statement, the PSNI said: “As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
