Following the release of her new song 'Dirty Rosie', Shania Twain revealed details of her latest album, 'Little Miss Twain', due for release this summer.

The singer, who will be supporting Harry Styles this summer when he performs a record-breaking 12 dates at Wembley in June and July, has described her upcoming album as 'a homage to my roots, my youth and my mother'.

The singer shared the artwork for the album, along with the release date of Friday 24th July 2026.

The news was greeted by some very excited fans, with one saying: ''NEW ALBUM?! YESSSSS' (sic) and another saying: 'This is everything 🥹 cannot wait!! SO ready for this new era 🙌🏼🤠🥹🩷'.

Shania previously teased the name of the album with a short video showing a young girl running through a field of long grass, before the camera pans up and the words Little Miss Twain appear on the screen. The camera then pans down again to reveal Shania Twain lying on the grass wearing a long brown coat.

What is the inspiration behind her album?

The singer joined Hits Radio where she spoke about the inspiration behind her album. With the name 'Little Miss Twain', it's a clue to the inspiration, but as the singer explained: "I was always in clubs because I was always performing.

"So my teens were primarily the one on stage. Now my friends, any schoolmates or whatever that I had, couldn't come and see me perform because they were underage.

"So I was in bars underage as a performer all of my youth. Little Miss Twain was writing songs from the age of eight-years-old and it's all I wanted to do.

"My play was to go out into the woods with my guitar, light a fire and just sit there for hours and write songs."

The singer also opened up about her most recent release, a song called 'Dirty Rosie'. Surprising Hits Radio Breakfast, she said: "Dirty trucks were the only kind of trucks we had and they were always old and rickety and we could not afford new ones and nobody shines their truck. I remember my dad's truck, it was a red truck, but it faded, of course, to a rosie colour."

Continuing: "Yeah, it's all about my first days as a child driver."

On Sunday 10th May, many countries in the world celebrated Mother's Day, and Shania posted a heartfelt message about her mum, who she lost back in 1987, with her dad.

She opened up about how her mum believed music could change the course of their lives, writing: 'Today I'm thinking about my mom and the stories that have stayed with me my whole life.

'My mother was there for the very beginning of everything. She was the one driving me to sing in local bars, finding any opportunity she could for me to get experience. Maybe even get discovered. Those bar stages were my classrooms. Sometimes we just needed to make enough money to put gas back in the car, but to her, it was still worth it. She believed in the music.

'She believed it could change the course of our lives. She never got to see what happened later. She wasn’t there for the awards, the big stages, the moments where I would look around and think, how did I get all the way here from where I started? That will always be one of the deepest sadnesses of my life, not being able to share it with my mother. But I also know this, while she was here, my music brought her joy. It was often her lifeline and gave her hope. And that means everything to me.'

She continues: 'Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking back at those years before anybody knew me as Shania Twain. Not to live in the past, but to understand it, to honour it, and to turn some of those memories into something new. This next chapter of music is very close to my heart. It goes back to where I came from. Back to the little girl with a guitar, a mother who believed she might have “the next Tanya Tucker” on her hands, and a whole lot of life still waiting to happen.

'So today, I’m sending love to all the mothers, children and anyone missing someone they wish could be here. Mother’s Day can be beautiful, complicated, joyful, painful... sometimes all at once. I’m holding space for all of it. ❤️'.

Speaking about the album, Shania said: "A lot of 'Little Miss Twain' is reflective of my teens, my roots as well as the energy of the rock and R&B I loved so much, but still with that Western twang. Where I’m from you don’t go anywhere on a horse — you go on a snowmobile. I was dreaming about the Western lifestyle and I was living in a very different world than where I ended up."

When will it be released?

'Little Miss Twain' is due for release on Friday 24th July 2026.

What is the tracklist?

Shania has not yet revealed the tracklist, but she has now released the first song from the album called 'Dirty Rosie'.
