Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has shared the exciting news that she has another grandchild on the way. Kym first became a grandmother when her daughter Emilie gave birth in 2019, and now Kym's son David is having his first child.

Kym starred on Coronation Street playing Michelle Connor for 13 years before leaving in 2019 to pursue other projects. Along with her successful career, Kym has had an exciting few years in her personal life, namely becoming a grandmother!

The actress first became a grandmother at the age of 42, when her 25-year-old daughter Emilie had a baby boy. Kym was even Emilie's birthing partner and they moved in together so Kym could help look after the newborn. Now Kym's son David and his fiancé Courtney are expecting their first child together, making Kym a grandmother again.

Kim took to Instagram to share the lovely news, writing: 'I have been bursting to share this news for AGES!!!! I’m so very proud to announce I am gonna be a YaYa again!!!' (sic)

She added: 'My wonderful son @cunliffe890 and his equally wonderful fiancée @courtneyleac are expecting their first child in August! I am so very proud of you both and I cannot wait to meet my newest grandchild!! I love you all so much.'

Along with the exciting news that they will be welcoming their baby in August, Kym's son David, 26, and his fiancé Courtney also recently announced their engagement. Kym shared the wonderful news to her followers in November 2021 in an Instagram post, writing: 'So.....last night....this happened!!! Kym also spoke highly of the pair's relationship and doted on Courtney: 'I cannot begin to put into words how ecstatic I am!! To be in their company as a couple is to truly be in the presence of love!

'This girl is an absolute diamond, she’s kind and compassionate, beautiful inside and out and loves my son with everything she has! I couldn’t have wished for anyone better for him and I am super excited to be gaining a daughter!'

Since first becoming a grandmother, Kym revealed that she refused to be called granny, grandma or nanny, instead opting to be called Lolly.
