SPFL rule that Rangers will receive away tickets for game at Celtic Park but without Union Bears
Last updated 1st May 2026
The SPFL have ruled that Rangers will be given tickets to the final Old Firm of the season at Celtic Park but it will be without the Union Bears.
A disagreement between the two clubs last week led to the league governing body getting involved, after Celtic refused Rangers their away ticket allocation.
The Parkhead outfit said they would only permit visiting supporters on the condition that Rangers' ultras, the Union Bears, were not given tickets, which was rejected by Ibrox hierarchy.
The SPFL have now appeared to rule in Celtic's favour, deciding to not overrule the club's risk assessment of the match that saw them demand that no tickets would be handed to the group.
That means 2,200 tickets are available to Gers fans but the decision now lies with the Ibrox hierarchy on whether they will comply with Celtic’s condition.
The previous meeting between the two sides last month ended in farce and violence at Ibrox, when fans from both sets of supporters ran on the pitch after Celtic won a Scottish Cup penalty shoot-out.
A number of fans, stewards and police officers were injured, with official investigations opened by Police Scotland and the SPFL.
The two teams will meet at Parkhead on Sunday 11 May.
Hearts are currently top of the table with four games to play, with Celtic three points back in second place and Rangers a point further behind in third.
