Nick Walsh to referee final Old Firm match of the season

Nick Walsh has been appointed to referee the final Old Firm match of the season.

Celtic and Rangers face off at Celtic Park on May 10 with just three matches left to go of the Premiership campaign.

Danny Rohl's side look to be out the title hunt after a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Hearts at Tynecastle on Monday.

Martin O'Neill's team continued to apply pressure on the pace setters with a 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road a day earlier.

Walsh will be the man in the middle for Sunday's match with Frank Connor and Daniel McFarlane as his assistants.

John Beaton will oversee VAR from Clydesdale House with Chris Graham alongside him as his AVAR.

A win for Celtic will keep their title hopes well and truly alive heading into the final two matches of the campaign with Hearts visiting Fir Park the night before.

A defeat at the hands of their city rivals could edge Derek McInnes' side closer to a historic title win.
