Kyogo has completed his move from Celtic to Rennes for a fee in the region of £10million
The Japanese striker flew to France on Wednesday night to complete the transfer, less than 24 hours after helping Celtic reach the Champions League knockouts for the first time in 12 years.
It is understood the forward believes playing for the Ligue 1 side gives him a better chance of being selected for Japan's World Cup 2026 squad.
Jota has already complete his move in the opposite direction - returning to Parkhead for around £8million after leaving the club for £25million just 18 months ago.
The 30-year-old spent three-and-a-half years at Parkhead, becoming a cult-hero in the process.
He was one of Ange Postecoglou's first signings at the club and became synonymous with his brand of football.
Kyogo made 165 appearances in green and white and scored 85 goals.
He lifted eight trophies with the club, and was named the PFA and SFWA Player of the Year in 2022-23, the same season he won the Premiership's Golden Boot.
It leaves Brendan Rodgers' side short up front, with the Scottish Champions being linked with a move for Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brøndby.
The window transfer window closes on Monday February 3.
