Kieran Tierney thinks experience can help Celtic title bid

Kieran Tierney hopes the Premiership title-winning experience can help Celtic finish on top of the pile again this season.

The Parkhead club have been crowned champions 13 times in the last 14 seasons but are currently embroiled one of the most remarkable title fights in Scottish football history.

Tierney's second-half header sparked the comeback against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday, where Martin O'Neill's side came from two goals down at the interval to draw 2-2.

Celtic are eight points behind leaders Hearts and two behind their Old Firm rivals, with the trip to Aberdeen on Wednesday night their game in hand over both the top two teams.

Tierney believes fourth-placed Motherwell - who are two points behind Celtic - are also in the mix but is looking for the Hoops to lean on their title-winning habits.

The Scotland defender said: "We play at a club where the pressure is so high and demanding, that every game matters. So it's not new to us.

"Maybe the situation is, with three or four different teams going for it, but the pressure of playing for Celtic is not new to us.

"Experience in a title run is a massive thing, and we've got our captain, Cal (Callum McGregor) who's won so many trophies, James Forrest as well and boys that have been there in the past.

"So, it's amazing to have guys like that in the changing room, and even the manager as well, has been involved. It's brilliant for us and I hope it helps.

"You just can't rely on resilience and character, we need to show that we can play as well and go and beat teams.

"I think that's what we need to work on in these next few games as well as just doing both of those things."
