Rangers head coach Danny Rohl has completed his move to RB Salzburg.

The German was expected to remain in charge of the Ibrox side next season after being given the backing of chairman Andrew Cavenagh.

However, the 37-year old will now move to Austria after a compensation package was agreed between the clubs.

First-team performance manager Sascha Lense and first-team analyst Tristan Steiner will also depart.

Rohl took over from Russell Martin in October and initially clawed them back into the title race.

Four defeats from five post-split matches eventually killed their Premiership hopes with the club finishing season behind both Celtic and Hearts.

Tynecastle boss Derek McInnes is expected to take over at Rangers.

He came within minutes of leading the Jambos to a historic title win before being pipped by Martin O'Neill's Celtic at Parkhead.

Coaches Alan Archibald and Paul Sheerin are expected to join McInnes at Ibrox.

Chairman Andrew Cavenagh told the club's official website:“I’d like to thank Danny for his service and commitment to Rangers.

"He and his staff put in a significant amount of hard work during his time in charge, which we are greatly appreciative of.

“We wish them the best of luck moving forward.”

The club also confirmed an update on the vacant position will follow in due course.
