Woman found dead in Glasgow's east end as police launch major probe
A large force presence remains in the Carntyne area
Police have launched a major investigation after a woman was found dead in Glasgow in the early hours of this morning.
She was pronounced dead at the scene in a house in the Carntyne area around 4 am.
Officers are treating it as suspicious and a major police presence remains in the area.
Detective Inspector Gordon Walker said: "Around 4am, on Saturday, 18 April, 2026, we received a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Her death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation is underway.
“Additional officers are on patrol in the area and anyone with concerns can approach them.”
