Woman dies and man fighting for his life after Paisley crash

Emergency services were called out to Corsebar Road earlier today

A 76-year-old woman has died following a crash in Paisley.

Emergency services raced out to the scene of the incident on Corsebar Road at around 12.30pm today.

A silver Kia Ceed left the road and collided with a wall.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was a passenger in the car while a 78-year-old man, who was driving, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Investigation ongoing

The road was closed until around 6.25pm to allow for an investigation at the scene and has since fully reopened.

Sergeant Ally Wright said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman involved.

“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area, to get in touch.”
