There's a warning Hamilton is becoming a dumping ground for shopping trolleys as litter pickers make a plea to people to leave them at the supermarket.
Julie Dickson takes away thousands pounds worth of bags of rubbish every year with her volunteer group Hamilton and Blantyre Litter Pickers.
She told Clyde 1: "There are hotspots such as behind the Mecca Bingo where we once found 19 trolleys and another time we found 25 in the lane beside the Morrisons.
"They are left in all sorts of places - lying on their side or upside down.
"We've seen them strewn across the burn at the Palace Grounds as well, it's unsightly."
Julie has been going around the town picking up old bottles, cans and crisp packets since the pandemic.
She added: "Abandoned trolleys are more than an eyesore, they pollute waterways and damage habitats contributing to unnecessary metal waste.
"It is the supermarket's responsibility to collect the trolleys so you can phone them in the first instance or take them back yourself.
"There are also a couple of different companies you can phone up to take them away."
