Two teens injured in Glasgow

Around 12.15pm on Thursday, 23 April, 2026 police were called to a report of two teenage boys injured during an incident believed to have involved fireworks in Dixon Avenue, Glasgow.

Emergency services attended and the boys have been taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment.

EOD are in attendance to assess an item found at the scene and a police cordon in place.

A number of local businesses and residents are also being evacuated as a precaution.

People are being asked to avoid the area, and the following roads are closed:

Dixon Avenue at Cathcart Road

Dixon Avenue at Gartuke Street

Dixon Avenue at Allison Street at Belleisle Street.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1302 of Thursday, 23 April, 2026.
