Three men are appearing in court after being picked up in a series of drugs raids across Glasgow yesterday.

We followed police as they executed warrants at five addresses in the Gorbals, Possilpark, Cambuslang and Maryhill as part of Operation Carex.

The men aged 33, 23 and 21 were arrested and charged with drugs offences and police say they found crack cocaine, cannabis and heroin inside the properties.

Detective Inspector Tam Carey said: “Today’s activity forms part of sustained, intelligence-led work to target those involved in the supply of drugs within the Glasgow city centre.

“We will use every tactic available to gather evidence, identify offenders and dismantle the networks that exploit vulnerable people and profit from harm.

“Drug dealing and associated criminality have a devastating impact, and we will continue to take action to disrupt those responsible and bring them to justice.”

Top to bottom: Detective Inspector Tam Carey and Area Commander Nigel Thacker are leading Operation Carex.

More than 20 officers then headed to the city centre on patrol to look out for drug deals and those involved in the supply and misuse of drugs.

Chief Inspector Nigel Thacker said: “We know that drug activity in the city centre can impact on those who live, work and visit the area and it contributes to wider safety concerns.

"This operation highlights our commitment to keep the area safe."
