Ten year-old girl fighting for life after serious crash in Carnwarth
Two women have also been rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A 10-year-old girl is in hospital fighting for her life after being involved in a serious crash in Carnwarth last night.
It happened around 5.40pm on the A721 Carnwath Road, east of the junction with Kersewell Avenue and involved a Volkswagen Golf.
Emergency crews raced to the scene and helped the 44-year-old female driver and a 72 year-old female in the front seat.
Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
The 10-year-old female rear seat passenger was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to what are described as life threatening injuries.
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 2.15am this morning.
Sergeant Elaine Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
