Patna teen with testicular cancer going back to old school to raise awareness
George Carrick was diagnosed a few weeks ago and has had a tumour removed already.
A teenage boy from Patna who was told he has testicular cancer just weeks ago is going back to his old school to encourage other young men to check themselves.
Sixteen year-old George Carrick has had a tumour removed and is waiting to find out if he'll need chemotherapy.
He told Clyde 1: "I've been asking lots of guys who went to school ranging from my age up to men in their 50s about getting talks on how to look for symptoms.
"They all said no.
"It seems like a no brainer for people to be having these conversations with young men given girls are shown how to check their breasts for lumps."
George hopes to start visiting other schools around Ayrshire soon to have the same conversations with other pupils.
He added: "I think people will be able to relate to me and listen to me because I am a former student.
"They're more inclined to take on board what I'm saying than someone in a random video."
His colleagues at Craig Tara holiday park are going to do a cold water dip next month to raise money for charity.
Eileen Potter is one of them and said: "Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate the cold but it will be made easier on the day with the whole team there supporting each other."
