UPDATE: Renfrew Bridge has reopened after a bomb scare earlier this morning.
Specialist squads were called out - but they did not find anything of concern.
Police are thanking drivers for their patience.
Police bomb squads have been called out to Renfrew Bridge, after a suspicious item was discovered on a nearby building site.
Officers have said a 'possible ordnance device' was found at around 10am on June 23 2025.
The crossing is currently sealed off to traffic and pedestrians as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team investigates.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Renfrew Bridge is closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a building site nearby.
"Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been contacted.
"Motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternative routes."
The Renfrew Bridge connects Yoker and Clydebank directly to Renfrew and it was opened earlier this year.
