Police in Dumbreck are searching for the driver of a white Ford Fiesta, who left the scene of a crash on Tuesday.

The car collided with a black Kia Niro on Dumbreck Road, just off the M8 slip road, at around 3pm on Tuesday 21 April.

There were no reported injuries, but the driver of the Ford made off on foot after the incident.

Police are trying to trace the driver of a Toyota Hi Ace van which was seen at the time, who they believe may be able to assist the investigation.

Police appeal

Constable Lewis Owen said: “I am asking for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Enquiries so far suggest the Fiesta was on London Road before the crash, around 2.40pm, then entered the northbound carriageway of the M74, onto the M8 westbound and then left the motorway at junction 23 where the crash happened.

“If you were driving in these areas around the time of this incident then please check any dash-cam footage you have to see if there is anything that could help with our enquiries.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1883 of Tuesday 21 April 2026.
