Police search for two suspects after East Kilbride serious assault
A man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital with serious injuries
Police are searching for two suspects after a man was seriously assaulted in East Kilbride.
A 42 year old man was walking along the footpath at The Murray Road, near its junction with Westwood Hill, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday 1 July, when he was approached by two men.
He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Police say the first suspect is a white male, 5ft 10, of slim build, and wearing a black tammy hat and a blue/grey jumper.
The second is described as also being a white male, 5ft 8, of slim build, and wearing a blue/grey hat and a light blue top.
The force is checking CCTV footage from the area for more information.
Officers have been checking any relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area for additional information on the suspects.
Police appeal
Detective Constable Ross Burgess said: “This was a violent attack which left the victim with serious injuries and it is vital we trace the individuals responsible.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen two men around The Murray Road or Westwood Hill area on Wednesday evening to please come forward.
“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could be of significance to this investigation.”
