Police hunt teenagers after 94-year-old woman pushed to ground and robbed in Falkirk
A 94-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed in Falkirk on Monday afternoon.
Detectives say her handbag was stolen just before 1pm on Hope Street, near Meeks Road.
Police are searching for two teenage boys seen running towards Dollar Park and are appealing for public assistance as CCTV checks continue.
The first suspect is described as a white male, in his teens, slim build, wearing black Nike trousers, a black and grey Nike jacket, black and grey Nike 95 trainers, black gloves, a black face covering, and a black crossbody bag.
The second is also a white teenage male, slim build, wearing a black Montirex jacket, black trousers, black Nike 95 trainers, black gloves, a black crossbody bag, and with his face covered.
Detective Sergeant Chris Scott said: "This is a despicable attack on an elderly woman in the town centre. Thankfully, the victim was not seriously hurt, but she has been left badly shaken by what happened.
"It’s vital that we trace those responsible. I’d urge anyone who recognises the descriptions or saw what happened to come forward. Anyone with private CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage between Hope Street and Dollar Park is asked to review it for anything that may assist our investigation.
"I’d also appeal directly to parents or carers of youths in the area, as we believe these teenagers are local. If you recognise the descriptions or have heard anything about the robbery, no matter how small, please report it."*
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1267 of 9 February. Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
