Pensioner passenger in Glasgow taxi dies after London Road crash

A 79-year-old woman who was travelling in a taxi has died after being involved in a two vehicle smash in Glasgow last week.

She was travelling in a black Mercedez-Benz Vito on London Road when it collided with a white Citroen Berlingo van around 5.25pm on Tuesday March 25.

Emergency crews rushed her to the Royal Infirmary where she died on Saturday.

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

Sergeant Jim Dewar said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this very difficult time.

“We’ve been carrying out extensive enquiries and, while we’ve already gathered CCTV and witness statements, I’m appealing for anyone else who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage to come forward.”
