A man is in critical condition in hospital after a crash involving a pedestrian and a lorry on the A8 in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the Westbound carriage between Chapelhall and Eurocentral at around 4.30am on September 28, and a man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.

Medical staff say he remains in critical condition. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.”

Traffic Scotland say the A8 reopened just before midday, after being closed for around 8 hours.
