Man killed in crash near Loch Lomond

A man has been killed following a crash involving a car and two motorcycles on the A83 near Tarbet.
Emergency services were called to the A83 just beyond Tarbet on the road to Arrochar, at around 12.15pm on Sunday, 19 July, 2026.
One male rider, aged 61, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male rider, aged 58, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.
The road re-opened around 8.35pm.
Sergeant Lindsey Tait said: “Our thoughts are with Billy’s family, and they have asked for privacy at this time.
“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area please check any dashcam footage to see if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
