A 35-year-old man has been jailed for four years for human trafficking offences in Glasgow.

George Coman was sentenced at Kilmarnock High Court earlier after being convicted in Glasgow on 10th November 2025.

He was also made the subject of a Trafficking and Exploitation Order.

Coman was found to have controlled the life of a woman who was trafficked to Scotland and forced to work at a brothel in Glasgow which he made money from.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul McNamara said: “We are fully committed to targeting criminals who exploit, control, and abuse people and we will work closely with our partner agencies, both nationally and internationally.

"We will target and pursue offenders whilst raising public awareness to help identify and safeguard victims, ensuring they receive the necessary protection and support.

“Human trafficking is an abhorrent and reprehensible crime and a blight on our communities and has no place in Scotland.

“Exploiting vulnerable people purely for financial gain has an unmeasurable long-term impact on its victims. Our thoughts remain with them as Coman now faces the consequences of his crimes.”
