Pedestrian seriously injured after collision with taxi in Glasgow

A man's been hit by a taxi in Glasgow city centre.

It happened on Argyle street at the four corners last night around 10.

The 55-yera-old pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth where his condition's described as serious.

The driver, who's 31, will be reported to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 officers attended Argyle Street in Glasgow after a crash involving a taxi and a pedestrian.

"The road closed near the Four Corners for approximately three hours to allow investigations to take place.

"A 55-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with what are described as serious injuries.

"The 31-year-old driver of the taxi will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We received a call at 9.39pm on April 9 to attend an incident on Argyle Street, Glasgow.

"Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
