Man dies in fall at tower block blaze

A man has died after falling from a tower block window during a fire in Motherwell.
It happened on Shields Drive on Thursday night, with emergency crews called just after 10pm.
Nine fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze, including specialist appliances.
Police are still trying to find out exactly what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a fire within a property on Shields Drive in Motherwell around 10.20pm on Thursday March 5.
"Emergency services attended and a man was seen having fallen from the window of a property. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no-one else was injured.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
