Man critically injured after crash with police car
The two officers and a man in a third car did not require treatment
Police are appealing for information after a crash involving a police car near Mauchline on Friday.
Around 2.40pm, a Seat Mii collided with a marked police car and a BYD Dolphin on the A76.
The 56 year old male driver of the Seat was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by air ambulance, where staff described his condition as critical.
The two police officers and the driver of the BYD did not require hospital treatment.
Police appeal
Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash to contact us with any information.
"If anyone has dash-cam footage, please check it as it could have captured images which could assist our enquiries."
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1987 of Friday 28 August 2026.
