A man has been convicted of the murder of Stephen Gray in Glasgow in 2023.

Gavin Gallagher, 33, was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 10 September, 2025

Around 7pm on Friday, 3 November, 2023, officers were called to a block of flats on Southcroft Street, after a man was found seriously injured within.

Stephen Gray, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gallagher is due to be sentenced on Wednesday, 8 October, 2025.

Detective Superintendent Hannah Edward said: “This was a shocking attack which involved a significant level of violence and led to the death of a young man.

“Gallagher will now face the consequences of his actions.

“While nothing can change what has happened, I hope that this conviction brings at least a degree of closure to Stephen’s relatives and friends, who our thoughts remain with at this time.”
