Man assaulted in Bellshill

Extensive enquiries are ongoing after a man was assaulted in Bellshill.

Around 5.10pm on Saturday, 8 August, 2026, officers were called to a report of a 39-year-old man being assaulted by a man on a motorbike in Strathclyde Park.

He did not require hospital treatment but was left very shaken by the incident.

The man on the bike was wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers, a balaclava and a black helmet.

Constable Sarah Dunn said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am asking for the help of the public.

“This is a busy area with walkers and we're asking anyone who was in the area to think back - did you see a man on a motorbike?

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything, which may be able to assist our investigation, to contact us.

"If you recognise the description of the suspect, please get in touch.

"We're also keen to speak to anyone who has footage on their mobile phone which may have captured the man on a motorbike."
