Man assaulted in Bellshill

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Bellshill on Saturday, 20 June, 2026.

Around 11.55pm, the 24-year-old man was on Coltness Drive when he was approached by two men who chased him onto Thorndean Avenue where they seriously assaulted him. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The first suspect is described as white and of slim build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, black shorts and a skeleton balaclava.

The second suspect was white and of medium build. He was also wearing a skeleton balaclava, a black and grey padded jacket, black jogging trousers with grey patches at the knee and grey trainers.

Detective Constable David Nolan said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace the two men responsible and I would appeal to the local community for any assistance.

“If you have any information that could assist please contact us. Anyone with dash-cam or personal footage is asked to please review it and get in touch if it holds anything which could be relevant.”

Information can be passed to officers through 101 quoting incident number 0079 of 21 June, 2026.
